Christmas sewing happiness

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas. πŸ™‚ I know I did!

I took part in both Vicki Kate’s Sew Merry Christmas Swap and Kat’s Sewists Secret Santa – I had so much fun choosing things to send to the people whose name’s I drew and wrapping them all up. Hopefully the people I sent them to enjoyed them!

And check this out – two lovely presents that were sitting under the tree for me, full of crafty goodness!

Firstly, here’s the gift I got from TJ as part of the Sew Merry Christmas Swap.

pinks

A length of pretty pink-and-white floral lawn, a cute dress pattern, and a mystery KnipMode pattern for a vest. I’m going to start with the floral lawn – I have plans for it already. πŸ™‚

And here’s what I got from my Sewists Secret Santa.

swimmers

How cute is this cotton? It’s got retro swimming ladies on it! Yippie!! And there’s ribbon, and lace, and green-and-white gingham bias binding, and a lovely button. I’m tossing up whether to start with the swimmers cotton, or the bias binding. So many options for both!

Thank you so much, TJ and my mystery Secret Santa! I love it all. πŸ™‚ (And thank you Vicki Kate and Kat for organising such fun swaps!)

  1. You’re very welcome! I’m really enjoying seeing what everyone received! That swimmers fabric is VERY you, but so is the lawn – I can’t wait to see what you do with them!

    • I wish I knew who sent me that swimmers fabric – it really is rather perfect! I’m hoping to get them both made up during January, as they’re both great for summer garments. Fun!

  2. Love that swimmers fabric. I agree it’s so very you. I’ve no doubt you will do it great justice!

  3. Oh wow, these are both great gift packages! The lawn AND the swimmers fabric are both so adorable!

    • Aren’t they though?! I’ve been playing the ‘which pattern to use?’ game with them both since I unwrapped them – so much fun!

  4. Yay I can’t wait to see what you make with it!

  5. Oh and BTW the Knipmode pattern isn’t a vest (it was called one in Dutch tho’ XD) it’s a cocoon style cardigan (the pink one in the magazines pattern section of my swap page). I’m wearing one (in my size) on the May 25th and May 30th entries of thispost.

  6. What lovely prezzies!!! Lucky you! ^_^ The swap was fun wasn’t it? πŸ™‚ It was awesome shopping for a fellow sewist, as well as knowing there was fabric under the tree ^_^

    • It was soooo much fun! I really enjoyed shopping for other sewists. πŸ˜€ Here’s hoping there’s a mid-year swap or similar….. πŸ˜‰

  7. What a great range of goodies! I missed this – but now I have new blogs to add to my reader πŸ™‚
